Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We do not claim to have achieved it everywhere, because nobody has audited this site but us, and a conformance claim nobody has tested is worth nothing.

• Every page works with a keyboard alone, and focus is visible.
• The register is real HTML tables with real headers, so a screen reader can navigate it by row and column rather than reading a wall of numbers.
• No status is signaled by color alone. Every state carries a word and a glyph as well, so a price rise and a price fall are distinguishable without seeing color.
• The price history chart carries a text description of what it shows.
• Animation is limited to short color and shadow transitions, and all of it is switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
• On a phone the price table becomes stacked records rather than a squeezed grid, and no page scrolls sideways at 320 pixels.
• Text reflows and zooms without breaking the layout.

Every price quotation links to its source with the word “source”, which repeats several times on an entry page. Each carries a distinct accessible name saying which term it evidences and where it goes, so a screen reader does not read four identical links. The visible word is still the same for all of them, which is a compromise between density and clarity that we may revisit.

Text and interface colors have been measured against their actual backgrounds rather than assumed. Body and secondary text clear the AA ratio of 4.5 to 1, and the muted status chip clears it at 4.55 to 1. If you find a combination that does not, we would like to know.

Some of the passages we quote verbatim from companies are long and awkwardly punctuated. We will not tidy them, because altering a quotation would falsify it.

The change log, the data page, the status page, the method page and these policy pages carry no pop-up, no interstitial, and no sticky bar. Nothing on them moves or covers what you are reading. See how this register is funded for where the commercial parts of the site are and are not.
