How this register is funded

That covers 66 of 858 entries. The remaining 792 entries, across the other 336 companies, carry no paid link and earn us nothing.

Being unpaid is not a mark against a company here, and being paid is not a recommendation. Most companies in this register have no relationship with us at all and are recorded to exactly the same standard.

It does not change what we record. Prices, terms, pharmacies, and dates are read the same way for every company. A company that pays us gets no advance sight of its entry, no approval over it, and no ability to have it removed.

It does not change where an entry appears. Tables sort by price or by date, and a paid entry holds exactly the position that sort gives it. We do not float paying companies upward.

There is nothing here for it to buy. This site publishes no score, no ranking, no badge, and no best-of list. A commission cannot influence a judgment that does not exist.

• Occasionally in a panel when you click through to a company we have no arrangement with, offering one we do. It appears on a click, never on scroll or on leaving, at most three times in a visit, and never twice for the same company.

The change log, the data page and its downloads, the verification status page, how entries are recorded, and every policy page including this one carry no paid link and no interruption of any kind.

Those are the pages built to be quoted and linked. A page that sells to its reader stops being quoted, and citations are how a register like this earns its standing.

Paid links run through our own address first, which records that a click happened and which page and module it came from, then forwards you to the company. That record tells us which parts of the site are useful. It carries nothing identifying about you, and the privacy notice sets out the whole of what is collected.

If recording something accurately would cost us a commission, we record it accurately. That is easy to write and worth writing down anyway, because the register’s only asset is that its figures can be checked. A price we shaded to protect an arrangement would take that away, and no commission is worth it. Our standards are in the code of conduct, written so they can be held against us.
